Chapter Eight

"This is getting out of hand," Jemma said looking over at Spike.

Spike just sighed and continued to flip through the channels on the hotel television. "I feel like we are kind of being punished," she finally said. "Someone tags our tour bus and threatens us, and now, we have to spend the night holed up in a hotel room. I mean, I can't even go out for food without fifteen security guards following me."

"That's what I'm saying," Jemma said. "This lifestyle leaves no room for privacy."

Spike stopped what she was doing and looked over at her, analyzing Jemma in silence.

"What?" Jemma asked, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"No reason," Spike said, dropping her gaze. "I've just been thinking, and it seems like everything that this Fangirl38 has been doing could break both us and the band up."

"What does that have to do with me?" Jemma asked, suddenly irritated. "You aren't trying to say that you think that I have been behind this the whole time, are you?"

"No," Spike said unconvincingly shaking her head. "It's just that you are always saying how difficult it is to always be in the tabloids and followed around by the paparazzi, and I kind of think that if something happen where the band did stop touring and playing concerts, then you would actually be happier."

Jemma looked over at Spike with a look of distain. "You obviously don't know me very well," Jemma said. "Not only are you insinuating that I like what this crazed person is doing to us, but you are assuming that I don't enjoy playing in Jems and Jamz. I told you a long time ago that it was always my dream to be in a band, and just because our privacy is put to the test at times, doesn't mean that I would ever want the band to break up."

"Are you sure about that?" Spike pressed with a knowing grin.

"Very," Jemma said, getting up. "I'm going downstairs. Why don't you sit here and analyze me by yourself?"

"Jemma, don't..." Spike said, getting up.

"Leave me alone," Jemma replied, exiting the door, and as she walked down the hallway, she didn't even care that there were a group of security officers following her.
